Meet Patricia

Patricia M. Rodriguez Mosquera obtained her PhD at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She has been on the faculty of the University of Amsterdam and Brunel University London, and is currently Professor of Psychology at Wesleyan University. Prof. Rodriguez Mosquera studies emotions in their social and cultural context, with a special focus on the emotions people feel when they are valued and respected  (or devalued and disrespected) by others. Prof. Rodriguez Mosquera’s work has been published in social psychology (Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology), cross-cultural psychology (Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology), and emotion (Cognition & Emotion, Emotion) journals. She was lead editor of a special issue on Social Image for the European Journal of Social Psychology and editor of a special issue on Cultures of Honor in Group Processes and Intergroup Relations. She was Associate Editor of the European Journal of Social Psychology and currently is Associate Editor of Frontiers in Psychology: Section Cultural Psychology.
